Hey,
There was a thunder storm few days back. So when I came home I saw that the USB cable, which connected my imac to the Internet router, was melted and burnt. After that the imac wont power up and there is no response when I press the power button. However the router seems to be functioning fine.
I tried resetting SMC and SO-DIMM memory modules but it still doesn't work.

So any ideas what could be wrong? Is there anything else I can try?

Any help would be great?

Probably fried the power supply if not more.

Call your insurance company.
