Hello everyone,
I've finally decided to upgrade my iMac desktop (CD Reader/Writer, DVD reader) from 10.2.8 up to 10.4 as my desktop still works ok for doing basic things but increasingly it has been tricky doing things online.
I am having trouble installing 10.4. Do I need to do some kind of procedure to uninstall the old operating system?
I was under the impression that after backing up my data, all I had to do was put the 10.4 installation disk in the drive and then follow the on-screen prompts. But when I do this, I only get a smiling desktop computer and nothing more happens!
I've tried to go to the Apple website but I haven't found anything helpful.
Does anyone have any thought about how to proceed?
I don't want to have to discontinue using my desktop and drop a load of cash for another Mac.
Thank you for your help and time.
Dean
