.dmg file?

gday i have a .dmg file which i need to use what application will let me (im not sure but i think i might have to expand it / install it..)

you just double click on it and it will get mounted.

.dmg is like zip, you can put a password also.

to make .dmg you have to use the disk utility.

If you 'Get Info' (Hit Apple & I) what does it tell you in the 'Kind' box?

What is it an image for? If it won't mount automatically when you double click on it, you could try to mount it using Disk Utility. However, if it is asking you to choose the application, the .dmg file could be corrupt, in which case you might not be able to mount it with any app.
