I just got a macbook pro, love it (duh). I like to connect it to my television and watch movies which I have saved in avi files. Currently, I use VLC media player...
I want to be able to turn the volume up and down on my mac from across the room and skip through the movie files I add to the vlc media player playlist (this is in the very least, if I could go through my entire library or use a better video player for all of this, I am all ears!!)
Should I buy an apple remote? is there an itunes style application where I can catalogue all my avi files and sort through them?
