Before iTunes 9 was released i used this method to put my FLAC files in iTunes (iTunes 8something) and then I would just convert them to apple lossless and then delete the FLAC versions.... bam, done, simple as that.
Ever since i got iTunes 9 (or maybe it was Snow Leopard/Quicktime 10?) this stopped working.
How can i (for free) either fix this problem, or convert FLAC to apple lossless and then import to my library after i've done the conversion.
Note: it might not have been when iTunes 9 came out, it might have been when i upgraded to Snow Leopard... for some reason my Macbook has Quicktime 10 as well as Quicktime 7.something Pro... not sure if this has to do with anything.
EDIT:
someone led me to this on another forum, if anyone is having this same problem! this is a great way to convert FLAC to Apple Lossless!

EDIT:
XLD can convert the files for you into Apple Lossless.
X Lossless Decoder: Lossless audio decoder for Mac OS X
