Superdrive not reading discs anymore, so reformatting and updating to snow leopard not longer an option. Gonna replace it.
I have a 9.5mm GSA-S10N Height 8x6x2.4x5xDVD±R/RW/DVD+R DL/RAM SuperDrive on a black macbook from late 2008.

Iv'e seen models like UJ-857-C, GWA-4080M, UJ-857 and UJ-857-E
and i got no idea which one to get.

Anyone got an idea ?

I have a Matsushita UJ-867 in my MacBook Pro. It was a replacement for the original LG drive which went bad shortly after I bought the machine (installed by the Genius Bar). I was told by the tech that the Matsushita drives are a lot more reliable. So far, I've had little trouble - the lone exception would be on the few attempts I've made to burn DL media. I sometimes have a false-start and have to reboot the machine or use Toast to get it to work.
