iphone 3GS tether - Australia

I recently got my iphone without checking for tethering only to find out that my service provider has disabled the tethering application whilst the other two in this country provide it. I would pay if they provided it but they dont at all.

Anyone have any ideas for getting around this. I have bad eyesight and cannot see whats on the eyephone screen.

If your phone has 3.0 or 3.0.1 firmware installed, a quick google search will reveal an easy hack to enable tethering. If you have 3.1 firmware, then you're out of luck at the moment. Hopefully a jailbreak for 3.1 will appear over the next few weeks, and then you may have some options...
