I'm helping out a leading Black Friday site track down participating retailers, but can't recall if Apple Stores (or Apple online) participates in Black Friday deep discounts or door buster activities.

Has anyone participated or seen Apple open early on Black Friday or provide special deals for that day/weekend only? It would make sense for Apple to participate considering many other electronic retailers participate (Best Buy, Circut City, Target, Costco, Walmart, etc.

Yes, they run Black Friday specials. I'm certain they did it last year, but I don't recall the specifics.

I know you don't remember the specifics, but do you recall if they had released any new products specifically for Black Friday last year?

Way... way too many specs to list.
Wow, it's almost time to bust out my Black Friday avatar isn't it?

edit: what the heck, if stores can 'celebrate' Halloween in June.. I can bust out my black friday avatar in October.

08 BF deals

Interesting that they participated in '08 but no details on what the offers were, when they opened, etc. From the article, it sounds like people got better deals on Mac stuff at Best Buy and Amazon.

Unless their half-baked attempt last year turned them off, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple does something much bigger this year for the physical stores (and the online store & iTunes). Let me know if you catch wind of what they are doing as I'd love to highlight it.

Found this with Google in about 5 seconds:

I generally use Apple's "Black Friday" sales to purchase extended warranties for whatever systems I currently own that are coming to the end of their 1st year coverage. I've save quite a chunk of change over the past few years doing this. Also a good time to purchase their overprices accessories like remotes and adapter cables.
