itunes doesn't shuffle

in the last couple weeks my itunes started to not shuffle properly. It only shuffles songs from my "recently added" playlist, even when Im not in that playlist. And when I click on shuffle and go into a different playlist, when the song i play is over, the music just stops, it doesn't go to a next song. same goes for my ipod....which is really annoying.
