Hi all

I'm completely new to Macs but my boss has asked me to set up a file sharing network. I have looked at a few site but none have the info I need so I'm hoping I can get some help here.

We have a Mac running OS 10.5.8 connected to a Westell router (9100EM).

We also have a PC running Vista Home Premium SP2. This is also connected to the Westell.

We want to be able to set things up so we can transfer files both ways but I cant see how to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The windows part i don't know.. sry, but my privilege really goes to mac..

However!
the mac part i can help you with that.
here's how to:
1: Go to the "System Preferences Panel"
2: Click Sharing
3: Make sure the checkbox "Filesharing" is checked ON
4: You should see the filesharing screen now,
Click on "Options"
5: A new screen rolls out,
Make sure the checkbox "Share files and folders by SMB (Windows)" is checked "ON" (add any accounts if necessary.

4: Go back to the "System Preferences Panel"
5: Open the panel "Network"
6: Check your IP
7: Make sure both computers are connected in the same network.
8: Go to Windows, and connect to : smb://"macs IP"

That's all i can help you with for the apple part.
hope it helps you
