I have a MacBook 13" running Snow Leopard and I'm having trouble with certain files when I want to unlock them so I can delete them.. I "get info" and try to untick the locked box but the tick stays and won't become unlocked??? anyone know why this is happening and maybe have a solution?? it sux

Try Unlocking the Padlock on the bottom of the window first, you will have to enter your password.
