Address book import missing all notes

Trying to import my AB (v4.0.6/OS 10.4.11) from my old Mini into my new MacBook Pro running SL (AB v5.0).

Can export vCard from Mini OK (700+ contacts) and import it EXCEPT all my notes are gone.

Manually typing in 700 diff notes does not appeal.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm replying to my own post. Fixed the problem by creating back-up of Address Book within the app on my Mini. Then moved .abbu file on to desktop of new MacBook & "reverted to back-up" within new AB. Notes were transferred fine.
