I have recently moved house and changed router as I changed to cable internet provider. My XP laptop and Xp pc connect to my network (D-link N standard router) fine. Fast internet and stable. My Intel Dualcore iMac and Macbook pro however don'd do as well. The signal strength flactuates from 100% down to about 20(2bars) without even moving them. Powermac even drops the connection completely. On iMac it gows down to 2 bars and it is taking forever to load internet pages  I have tried changing channels on the router and it does not make any difference
Any suggestions how I could resolve this?

First thing to do is to check for updated firmware for the router.

Therein lies the problem. Leopard has some issues with wi-fi and WEP encryptions. If you change to WPA you should be fine.
You should anyway, WEP is not at all secure.

Thanks, Kevriano. will try this this pm. see you have Snow leopard. Is it worth upgrading? Does the WiFi work better on it?

I think it's worth it. I can't say if the wi-fi is any better, my iMac sits about 2 feet from my router!
It's a very slick OS. Worth the minimal upgrade cost for sure.
