I have a tower machine that I"m trying to install OS x 10.4 on. It won't install. And yes, I have a universal install disk so the installation is not hardware specific. I keep getting the same error message before the install prompt can appear.

invalid memory access at srr0: 6661756c ssr1 40003030

And then I have two options. type "shut down" or "mac boot".

Ideas?

Just curious...have you had this computer long, or did you purchase it recently?

What OS was it running before you tried to upgrade to Tiger?

Thanks,

What do you mean by 'Universal Install Disc'? You should be using a black coloured full retail install DVD. A lot of the so called Universal and Drop In discs sold on eBay are in fact the silver grey system restore discs.
