Suggest a free MPEG1 converter for OSX.

Hi,

I recently bought a new LCD TV which can play videos from USB Drive.
But it can only play MPEG1 format.

Could you please suggest few freeware applications for Mac OSX/Windows which can convert all of my video formats(wmv, avi, divx, xvid, mkv, mp4) into a good quality MPEG1 videos?
