So this morning I was DEAD SET on getting a new 13 inch pro UNTIL I saw that Dell has the new mobile i7's in their higher end XPS 16 for pretty much the same price as the higher end pro.

In all reality, the most I would be doing is downloading music and movies, ripping dvd's and web browsing, nothing too major. But the fact that I can get a machine that is much faster, has more hard drive space, and more ram for the same price. What would you guys do?

HELP ME FIND THE WAY!!!:Shouting: :Shouting: :Shouting:

I saw that Dell advertised. Nice machine, but to be honest, I would still rather buy a MacBook Pro. That Dell still runs Windows. :)

Regards.

chsag put it best. The dell runs windows. It also will get gunked up with spyware and all that other fun crap that you don't want to have to worry about, especially if you're downloading movies and music.

Also, multi-touch trackpad ftw. Go MBP.

Yea, I think my plan is, buy a MBP this week, then when Febuaryish comes around, sell it, and hopefully by then a new MBP will be out with the mobile i7's and I will pick one of those bad boys up.

Thanks for the input.

FYI Windows has not once failed me, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones

LOL you are the one of the lucky ones ... have not had a problem with OSX
and have been using windows for ever .. (above average user, In my mind)

recent dealings with ransomeware and others ** as a side note
CE's Geekbook: I am not Immune
CE's Geekbook: RansomeWare

Would go with the MBP .. you can still run windows on it .. upgrade the hard
drive your self just keep the original for warranty purposes

That laptop is a really good deal imo.

To me though, the OS is more important. Therefore I would go with the MBP.

Looks as though you are getting the MBP, have fun with it. =D
