My new MacBook Pro came today and I've had fun fooling around with it, but now I'm trying to transfer all my PC files (movies, music, documents, pictures) to the new Mac. I had looked up in advance how to set up a local network via ethernet cable. To my shock, I managed to connect the computers successfully.
But when I got to the screen where you're supposed to input your PC username and password, I had a problem. When I did put in the correct username and password I got a message that "there was an error connecting to the server" and to please try again.
(If it might be relevant, inputting the incorrect username/password yields a different error message: predictably, "invalid password".
Any help you could offer me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
