I've never had this problem before and have used a range of different USB mice with my Mac. Do you have a different USB mouse handy? Perhaps that one is defective.

I take it this is with an aftermarket mouse? Which brand and model? Every USB mouse I have ever tried works great.

Which Mac are you running? How is the mouse plugged in? Into a USB Hub by chance?

Give "mikomi" the toss and buy an inexpensive Logitech notebook or desktop mouse. Wal-Mart sells them for less than $15.00 wired.

Regards.

Agreed. That sounds like an off-brand. Stick with Microsoft, Logitech, Kensington or one of the other major brands.
