I just received a used mac (I think g4; it is silver with curved transparent handles at each corner) and I'm trying to install os x on it. I used the disc that came with my laptop, however I get the same error message every time. After I select the language, it says "software cannot be installed on this computer". I was told this is because Leopard for a macbook won't install on an old g4. Is that true?

Also, I can't get my CD out of the drive now since it uses it to boot everytime it restarts. Any ideas?

Thanks
David

Why must we answer this question 15 times a day...

You cannot use a grey restore disc to install OS X on a machine that the disc did not come with. You must use a retail (black) OS X install disc.
