problem with torrent downloads

I'm running snow leopard on a MacBook.
I use Transmission as my torrent client and started to have a problem with torrent downloads. My torrents always downloaded to wherever I directed them to go, but it seems since my "upgrade" to snow leopard I can't get any torrents, or for that matter anything to download.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks

Which trackers are the torrents using? Any errors related to those trackers? That's most like the culprit. You can also confirm that it's not a general issue with your SL installation by trying a different client (uTorrent)..

When I try to download any torrent client s/w I get nothing, so I can't try it.
When I hit the download button, it says its loading in the address bar, but only for 2 seconds.

You seem to be having general download issues unrelated to just torrents. If that is true, are you trying to download using Safari?

Can you test something by opening up a terminal and typing the following
Code:
cd ~/Desktop
curl http://download.utorrent.com/mac/uTorrent-Mac-16542.dmg
This should download the uTorrent disk image, if this works you can download things from the Internet, and something else is busted..

You have to change
Code:
cd ~/Desktop
curl http://download.utorrent.com/mac/uTorrent-Mac-16542.dmg
to
Code:
cd ~/Desktop
curl [B]-O[/B] http://download.utorrent.com/mac/uTorrent-Mac-16542.dmg
Without the -O switch, you're going to get a lot of junk printed back to you. ;)

Have you installed a download manager? If so, did you try to uninstall it?

Raz0rEdge,
I tried that in terminal and it downloaded utorrent.
Stil won't load any torrents. I'm using Safari and I was trying a download manager (I forget the name) for a very short time, removed it and all this shite started to happen.
Thanks everyone.

If download managers aren't uninstalled properly, they can cause havoc. You need to download the download manager again, re-install it and use the included uninstaller or uninstall it using the recommended methods.

Raz0rEdge, so was I. I had to get used to curl when I got my Mac. :)

Glad you found the culprit. I've never been fully convinced that download accelerators do anything of value since there are a LOT of things outside of your machine that control the speed of downloads. So in most cases they just cause freaking issues..
