receive certain e-mails the text is garbled

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard on my iMac. I am using Cox WebMail as my mail program. When I receive certain e-mails the text is garbled. It doesn't happen on my PC or my Mac laptop. Any suggestions?

Check the default font and encoding in mail preferences, as well as for the system.

If necessary change the viewing options to plain text or edit the com.apple.mail prefs
