Hello I am looking to buy a Hard Drive upgrade today.

I don't know too much about hard drives so I am looking for some advice

I currently run the standard 80GB which came with my MacBook but is now full

Initially I was looking for a speed increase and wanted a 7200 rpm drive as I often work with video

However I can not afford to spend over £60, in a speed compromise I have opted to go for a bigger drive (500GB)

I just wanted to see what peoples thoughts are when it comes to the "Western Digital Scorpio Blue"

Is the a good upgrade for the MacBook (and what is the difference between WD Scorpio blue, and WD Scorpio Black?)

Any advice and help much appreciated

Thank you for any help you can offer

I have a 250GB WD Scorpio Blue in my Intel Mac Mini. Works great. Quiet and fast.

From what I have seen the Blue series is 5400 RPM and the Black 7200 RPM.

Both are good drives.

Only you can make the determination as to which is more important for you - size or speed.

Whichever answer has been right for any of us, may not be the right answer for you.

(You are going to run out of space again, no matter which drive you get.)
