I have installed Snow Leopard and now on my iMac my hidden files show greyed out. I can't do anything with them but they do clutter up my directories and I would like to know how to hide them. I have searched the menus but can see nowhere where they can be hidden.

My Macbook was upgraded at the same time and it doesn't have the same problem.

Please show path to where I can hide these files.

Way... way too many specs to list.
open terminal and type in the following:

deaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
killall Finder

changing FALSE to TRUE will show them again. Or you can download some application to do the same thing.
