I used Time Capsule to restore DL. But where is the dbase of titles I had entered? I looked in the Library folder. Didn't see "Delicious Library". Anyone?

If no one else gets back to you, I'll have a look for the location when I get home.

Try here -

Home (your user) / Library / Application Support / Delicious Library and/or Delicious Library 2

I'd try restoring everything within one or both of those folders. Looks to me like half of my DL 2 library is still being stored in the DL 1 folder.

Found it. Restored my dbase. But unfortunately I don't recall my license # nor do I recall where I might have written it down. So now I have to shell out $40.00 US. Not crazy about doing this just because I switched back to 10.5 from 10.6. Daaaaaamn!! :)

Thanks for the directions though.

Won't help now, but the Keychain is a great place for storing that sort of info.

Whenever you get a license #, especially for any sort of download only software, open up Keychain and create a 'Secure Note'. I do this for all sorts of data, including all user names and passwords. For passwords, I create the Secure Note with user name and password, then copy and paste from there to wherever it is I'm registering.

Since Tiger, after a fresh install of the new OS, I've been able to just replace the login keychain with my backup copy from the old OS and keep going as if nothing happened in relation to auto logins, etc. You'll have to reauthorize some apps to access the keychain, but that's about it.

Even if someone gets hold of your notebook logged in already, all access to the Keychain data still requires your master password.

Also, if you're only keeping DVD info, no books, games, etc.; you might want to give DVDPedia a try. It's a nice piece of software also and save ya $20. And, it will auto import your Delicious Library.

I totally forgot about "keychain". Knew about it. Oh well. A little too late. Going to have to decide whether I want to continue using Delicious Library. I bought a license to try it a while back. As I wanted a DVD collection dbase program. DL seemed to be the best one on the Mac OS X.

I prefer Dvdprofiler for the Windows OS. That is the most comprehensive program. A shame they haven't created a Mac OS X version yet. I'm sure Invelos has received tons of requests.

Thanks any way for reminding me about "keychain". Where is the passwords file stored? In the Library folder again?

You're looking for the login keychain.

Not at my Mac right now, but should be in your home folder - Library - Keychains

If you're restoring this from your backup, wouldn't do it unless your user name is the same (I just never have as I keep the same user name) and it will change your log in password to the one you were using with that one.

And if you've got an iPhone, DL2 has an iPhone app that will sync all your library lists; books, movies, games, along with your entire iTunes library.

It's pretty slick, especially when you're at the store and wondering if you already have that title you're holding in your hand or not.
