What would happen if Apple went to the Dvorak Keyboard layout?

If for some reason they decided to switch do you think people would go along? I am not saying they are going to but I figure it anyone could lead the way to a different keyboard layout, it would be Apple.

The Apple IIc had a switch that toggled Dvorak/QWERTY.

All Mac models can be switched in software.

My guess is, even if Apple made it the default, people would continue to ignore it.

i dont have no mac's
i think that qwerty is like the industry standard per say. so i dont think that they would ever be able to change it.

if they were to change up the kb layout after using the same one forever, and everybody knows it, i would give up computers all together and go buy a typewriter

My friend uses Dvorak because it more efficient or something, but he can still type on a qwerty just fine.

I use both. I do enjoy all the looks people give me on the dvorak keyboard. I have no problems typing on either

I wonder, do any of you pry up and re-arrange the key caps on the keyboard to reflect the new layout? Now that would confuse people.....

Why would you need a different keyboard layout? Just cause? I'm lost..?

I think the reasoning behind the dvorak keyboard layout is that it puts the most commonly used letters on the home row so you have you move your fingers less so you can type faster.
