I currently have a RAID-5 array set up in my Nehalem (2009) Mac Pro across 3 2TB drives. Bootcamp is not supported if a RAID card is installed regardless of whether a RAID array is built. I would like to devote Bootcamp to its own separate drive independent from the RAID array.
I have one bay open, though there should be 2 additional SATA ports on the motherboard that may bypass the incompatibilities placed upon Bootcamp. I have looked into this in a number of forums, and the topics all concern the pre-2009 Nehalem. The solutions posed are often more complicated than rigging together some drives across the board with an ipass cable. If anyone knows anything of this, please post. If you don't, well, I would appreciate your post anyways.
Bootcamp is not a necessity, it's a desire.
