kernal panic problems

alright so i have recently installed 4gb of kingston ram that i know is compatible with my model but i keep getting kernal panics. Could it be something to do with the ram. Pehaps i have to reset pram? im not too sure, i also have a seagate external hooked up and its mac format..... please help im not sure what to do and i really need my computer for school thanks

Bad ram is a frequent cause of kernel panics. Try removing the new ram, and put your old ram back in.

If you have no kernel panics with the old ram...then the new ram is faulty...which probably means you need to return it.:(

unfortunatly i dont have my stock ram here but i do have a lifetime warrantee for my ram...... i am just backing up and wiping to see if that helps any, i need to do this anyways and if that does not help then it probably is faulty ram, ill post whatever fixes my problem......thanks
