I recently ran out of space on my external harddrive and had been using that to store my itunes songs on it and play it from that. I copied all the data files from my hard drive to an old iPod as just the data files so I can no longer listen to songs directly from that iPod anymore. I was wondering if it was possible to link my old iPod to act like my external hard drive and link it to my computer to play the songs from it.
When I'm in iTunes I have my list of songs but that annoying exclamation mark comes up. When I double click the song to play it asks if I want to find where it is located and I search through finder in my iPod and go find the song and then it will play just fine in iTunes.
