Greetings! :)

I decided to reformat my MacBook Pro. Once I was finished installing Mac OS X 10.5.8 I also decided to upgrade my software. After that I popped in my Snow Leopard disc and upgrade to SL. Everything was great as soon as I finished upgrading to SL. I then decided to goto the OPTIONAL INSTALLS and installed from there. I check all applications and I also checked Japanese Language and Quicktime 7. As soon as this was done it said the following:

you may have installed Mac OS X software that is older than your current version of Mac OS X, and may not work properly. To ensure the best experience please download and install the latest version of the Mac OS X Combo Upgrade update from Apple - Downloads - Mac OS X - Mac OS X Updates. You should do this even if you have the latest Mac OS X update installed
.

So I did what it told me and I found Mac OS X 10.5.8 Update Combined. However it said that I needed "10.5.7" so now I'm not sure what to do? Should just ignore this? Will this effect my OS heavily?

I am new to mac, I've had my macbook for a very short time. I appreciate any help and also give thanks to people that can help. So Thanks for reading, and I hope I can get through this. Peace :)

Ignore - You would not install any 10.5 updates while running 10.6.

There are no combo updates for 10.6 at this time since it's only on 10.6.1.

I would also recommend for most users - do not install the optional installs from the Snow Leopard disc unless you know you need them.

IF you have installed Snow Leopard then you need the 10.6.1 update

go to the  menu and select software update from there

Thanks for the replys!

I have installed 10.6.1 then I made the mistake of installing the optional updates, I won't have to worry about anything at this point?

Nope, no need to worry.

I wouldn't bother with uninstalling those optional installs either, since you already have them.
You may actually need Rosetta for running some PPC app now or in the future and it'll just be sitting there doing nothing until needed.
