I can't find anywhere in iweb help where it talks about sizes of photos that can be posted to your iweb site. Do you have to reduce everything to 72 dpi before loading it into iphoto/inserting into pages of site?

As I recall it has a preset size it uses for the galleries it creates. As for individual shots on a page, I believe you can just resize it to your whim. It takes care of it, so you can use images straight from your iPhoto library or else where. Just play with it.
