What are you trying to load? What machine did you get? What disc from Windows are you talking about? What CD's/DVD's came with the system?

If you're trying to install Mac OS, you'll need the specific installation DVD that originally came with the computer. Installation disks are machine-specific, so you won't be able to use Mac OS installation disks from other computers. You should have gotten the install disks from the seller. You can also buy a new retail copy of Mac OS to install if the seller doesn't have them.

We REALLY need to know much more info...especially what model Apple laptop you have.

Hopefully you're not incorrectly using the term "MacBook"...especially if you're refering to a much older Apple Laptop.

As far a the OS 9 disk. If you truly have a MacBook...OS 9 will never install on it.

At a minimum we need to know what model Mac laptop you have.

Have you tried any other discs aside from Mac OS 9? Also, you might have to connect the hard drive externally and format it before installing it in your machine. I don't know about MacBooks, but my iBook G4 wouldn't even see its new hard drive until I reformatted it and also set the partition map to Apple (instead of Intel).

OS 9.2 was designed for PPC machines. If it's a MacBook, you have an Intel machine.

The rest of the discs i have, have been burnt from windows systems, dont know if this makes a difference.

I would call Apple parts and see if you can pick up a set of replacement System Discs for that particular machine. This way you'll also get iLife and the utilities included with the System Discs.

Downloading and burning OS discs on another machine is tantamount to piracy, discussion of which is frowned upon here.

You need OSX Retail DVD of 10.5 or the DVD that came with your model Macbook. What you are doing downloading OSX is not going to work and as has been pointed out is against the law and piracy.

What Macbook did the person on Ebay sell you?
