converting MPEG to MOV...?

Yo,

I have been messing about with iMovie and iDVD quite successfully with imported video footage from my camera and .mov files...but when i try importing other file types, such as .mpeg...it fails to import into iDVD. Is there a compatibility issue where iDVD will only work with .mov files? if so are there any programs that can convert .mpeg to .mov?

Any help would be appreciated.

there are many apps to convert mpeg to .mov, though most people usually want to do the opposite, but quicktime pro can do it extremely well as far as quality goes. Compression Master and DiVA are also good.
