Hello everyone!

First time posting here but I hope someone may be able to help.

I just dug out my old Imac G3 667 Mhz in the attic which had been running OS 10.3.9.

I made the mistake of trying to upgrade to OS X 10.4 from what I guess now was a dodgy copy of the software without making a copy of my OS.

Stupid I know!

Now I have OS 9.2 running on the machine!

My questions are these...

Is it possible to upgrade these machines to OS 10.4 without having to get OS 10 and OS 10.1 etc..?

And if so does anyone know where I could get the CD version (No DVD drive on this Imac)?

Also is there at least anyway to get back to OS 10.3.9?

I've had a quick search on Google but the software costs around $200!

One correction...there was no 667mhz G3 iMac...maybe it's a 600mhz.

As far as the CD vs. DVD. I may be wrong...but I thought all slot-loading G3 iMac's (400mhz & faster) could "read" DVD's.

- Yes you can upgrade it to Mac OS 10.4 without going thru the other versions.
- Check e-Bay for copies of 10.4...CD versions are hard to come by.
- Yes you can get to 10.3.9...by purchasing 10.3 install disks.
- $200 for the software seems a bit on the high side...even for Ireland.

Good luck,

- Nick

iMac G3 came in two configurations, one had a DVD drive & and CD and the other has only a CD drive. I also have the model that has only the CD drive it is 400mhz. At the time I bought it I had no reason to spend extra on a DVD drive.
