are you aware about the hidden loops in garageband....if not... after you open it up you can click the eye towards the bottom this will open a menu then click to the right of the eyeball ( where there is no button) and drag it up... they hjave several premaid beats and such..

you can also add your own, or add mp3s as beats and create your own by mixing garageband loops and a song by your favorite artist.

yes, there is a mac version of cubase, there are also most of the same plugins. though I like macaddikt's idea, a home made beat is good, but a home made beat you make yourself is better, ;) more unique.

lol... if you guys kmew me personal i am not to much of a rapper... im more of a casual jeans band t-shirt and my chuck taylors.. but me and this guy always work sundays from 8am-8pm and it is slow ( i work in a coffee shop) so i bring out my ibook my midi cable and my keyboard. and i write beats using the midi triggers... and he is the same way as me but he can free style like no other... we have put out a few CD's and sold them around out chool... most people buy it becasue it is random and stuff..... I think we get a little carried away sometimes but hey what else could we do for hours upon hours...

i am thinking about getting a used pc and using fruity loops any thoughts.

No need for a PC here, just go to bandmatelooops.com. Tons of royalty free loops and dozens of single drum sounds to make your own beats using GB. You can also just use the Musical Typing feature of GB with the stock drum kit sounds and make beats.
