I tried connecting to a wireless network called "Free Public WiFi". After I did, my dad had told me that that was a bad idea and that it might be accessing my computer in some way. After I connected, I noticed a new section in the AirPort menu that I`ve never seen before called devices.

Is there a way to get rid of that? Should I be worried?

Free Public WiFi is a service broadcast by some locales, cities, towns, etc. Usually it's an "available on demand service" open to the public. Just make sure that you have sharing turned off for all devices and you should be OK. Keep in mind that Public WiFi is just that - it's public. Use common sense when you access that service. Do not log on to your bank account, give credit card info, etc, over a service that is not secure.

Regards.
