os 10.5.8 black out.

this problem happen after i upgrade my mac os to 10.5.8.... while i am using my macbook, the screen black out suddenly and shut down.... i am wondering, is there a solution for this problem.... or maybe i can downgrade to some earlier version without having to format the hardisk??
please, can anyone help me???
