hi folks, im wondering if anyone has any leads on an issue im having w/ my G5 2.0Ghz Powermac w/ 8Gb RAM:
i have tried to install OSX (10.4 or 10.5, both do the same thing) from the original discs. EVERY time i do this, the computer freezes at some point in installation. not always at the same place, but always freezes.
i am able to boot the computer in FIREWIRE mode via an external drive running 10.4.11. i can leave it on, and open several programs, and it wont freeze up at all.
is this an internal hard drive problem most likely? or motherboard issue? the internal hard drive is an old Maxtor that was installed when the computer's PSU failed. in DISK UTILITY, it verifies and repairs properly.
thanks for any leads.
