Icon Problem In Finder

Hi,

Im a bit of a noob, not had my imac long.

Is there anyway of turning off the icons in finder, as in so they dont try and change to a thumb nail, it only happens with films, on xp you could just change the folder options.

Just uncheck "Show Icon Preview" in Finder's "View Options" (command-J).
