 Finally: I have been stalking apple refurb site for a month for a mini under $500. Just snagged one for $499. Before if I waited a couple minutes it would be gone. This time I just pulled the trigger.

Good for you! :)

I always suggest to people that they should check out Apple's refurbished computers...the only downside as you well know is that the inventory can change daily or even by the hour...so what you want may not always be there.

Congrats again...have fun with that Mini!:)

Yup, I just checked the site again and no mini's left already. Wow, they go fast. Glad I finally got one.

Since there are no more left...what were the specs on it?

Refurbished Mac mini
2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
1GB memory
120GB hard drive
8x double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

I'll probably give it a 30 day test drive before adding 4 gigs of ram.

nice i just bought a mini a few months ago but i bought the new 09 intel version i got it for 599 pretty nice first mac and i gotta say i love it i dont think ill ever go back to PC ever again
although the hard drive was a bit small but its a good thing i had extra hard drives laying around so i just popped that sucker out and upgraded to the 500GB hard drive but i do wanna upgrade the ram as well cause its just not as fast as i want it to be but since the newer macs only take DDR3 witch are very expensive ill just have to wait awhile to upgrade that..

but my next buy will be a macbook as soon as i save some cash

but anyways have fun with your new toy i have been

Yea , 4 gigs is like $80. So I just ordered 1 gig stick for only $8 from owc. Original apple ram. I think 2 gigs will be enough for now. Check it out. At least you can double that ram for $8.00
