Buying help

I'm a professional photographer and I'm looking to buy a desktop. I've always worked on MacBook Pro's but I feel it's time to get a desktop for the massive amounts of image processing I do (which just keeps growing).

From what I've read, ghz is not the primary factor given some of the newer mac configurations. But I'm not up to speed on the processors and chips, and how to compare different configurations. I'd like to keep the price around $2500, and wonder what's the best option for that price range?

You should get a tower so you can upgrade as needed.They run cooler and in the long run you will be happier.
