Hi all,

First I have to confess I'm no MAC expert. Well and truly hooked but not that well versed as yet.

My terminal seems to have a small problem.
I'm trying to hide all the hidden files but the command won't work.

I'm trying
Code:
Last login: Sat Sep 5 22:40:34 on ttys000
iphone:~ lyle$ defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFile FALSE
-bash: defaults: command not found
iphone:~ lyle$

I'm not sure but I think the issue is down to the iphone: prefix.

I have no idea where that has come from. It could well have been something I have done but I'm not sure how.

Any help would be cool.

"iphone" seems to be the name of your computer, and "lyle" is the name of your home folder. Is that correct?

I think the problem is that you are typing it wrong. It should be:

Code:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFile[B]s[/B] FALSE

Hope that helps.
