Can't send email on me.com

Mac OS X, version 10.6, MacBook Pro
I have a me.com account and so does my wife. She can send email on her account, but I can't send email on mine! On the same computer? Why? I've tried Apple support, but have had no luck. Any thoughts?

I had that problem earlier today but it seems to be working fine now...

I have been having issues sending too. I have not tried today, but earlier in the week things were getting hung up.
