general problem

hi. for some reason, my applications have been shutting down, and i dont know why. firefox, adium, evn software update. im not sure whats goin on. firefox has closed as soon as i opened it and has closed after its been running for hours. any ideas.

have you repaired permisions?
also. have you installed any thing latley.

just reinstall osx i had the same problem with my g5

in most cases you dont need to reinstal OSX. this isnt windoze we are talking about.
Create another USER NAME and seee if u are still having problems..

i ran permissions. the thing is, it(SYSTEM OPTIMIZER) wont restart my iboook for me. but when i got back, it was restarted. so maybe something went wrong. ill try it again though. thanks.
