.mac virex

hi

i'm running a mac with a pc on a network

i have gone for .mac and downloaded virex, and am just doing the first
scan ( i don't expect it to find anything ) i tend to suspect anti vi on a mac is a
waste of resource - but am slightly concerned becos of the pc?

any up to date experiences, thoughts or guidance appreciated as i have checked
old threads before posting

you are correct. there are no viruses for mac, but a mac can hold/host a virus and then spread it to a pc on a network or through file sharing, so anti virus protection is needed in your situation.
