Trackpad

My trackpad is having issues. Sometimes it won't click at all, other times it's as if I "right-clicked" with it. I will just be scrolling or not even doing anything with it all, and when I move it, without clicking it, it will highlight text. Other times it is just nonresponsive and won't do anything.
I have checked my settings, everything looks fine and is set to what it should be doing.
I have also done the latest system update.

A. Does anyone know what the issue might be?
B. What can I do to fix this?
