I installed snow leopard on Friday and since then have noticed that the photo screensaver resets after just a few pictures fall (collage). Yesterday when I moved the mouse to turn the screensaver off the screen color, most noticeably on the dock, was faded.

It doesn't do this all the time but is a bit annoying. Any idea what I can do to fix it?

Are you sure that the display brightness was not set to be really low? Try pressing F2 (on a laptop) or fn-F2 (I think) on a desktop. That makes the screen brighter.
