Hi there,

I've got an iPhone 3G running OS 3.0.1. I have recently started from fresh using OS X 10.6 on my iMac, and now I can't sync my iPhone. Normally, on my iPod, I could select "Manage music and videos manually" and it'd do it no questions asked, but with my iPhone, it wants to erase and sync, even if I tell it to manually manage.

Is there any way around this? :(

After a lot of fiddling about, I sorted it.

I forgot I'd taken a Time Machine backup before I wiped the computer (I've only just recently started using Time Machine, so I forgot about it). I managed to pull out all my iTunes Library files from before I formatted, backed up the new iTunes library files, then overwrote them with the old. iTunes now starts correctly, still has all my media accessible and now lets me sync my iPhone :D

Ah, That makes sense. Good Job!
