I am connected to the Internet using an Airport (which is how I am sending this), yet when I open the Airport Utility, it tells me that it cannot find any Apple wireless devices. Clicking Rescan does not help.

Any ideas?

Clarification needed.

By using an Airport - do you mean the Airport device inside your Mac or an Airport Express / Extreme / Time Capsule being used as a router?

The Airport card in your Mac is controlled via System Preferences - Network - Airport

An Airport Express, Extreme or Time Capsule would be set up through Airport Utility.

I was logged onto the Internet via an Airport Extreme which does not show up in the Airport Utility in spite of functioning perfectly in other respects.

Sorry for the confusion.
