do you find that it actually helps or is it something thats just cool to have and there's not really a tremendous advantage to it? i'm debating myself...

From what I remember an iCurve is a stand for your laptop..but I thought it was specifically made for the Powerbook. It's one of the nicer stands because it has the "Mac" look..it also lets your laptop have more air movement cause it's "suspended" off your desk or table.

Yeah, I have it and absolutely love it... it raises the notebook to be at eye level, which is better for your posture.
I use it with apple's wireless keyboard and a regular mouse.
And when I'm done, I can place the keyboard below the macbook and just slide the whole thing back out of the way.
I also use it when we watch a movie in bed (and I'm too lazy to set up the projector), that way nobody gets burnt legs and the viewing angle is better as well.
