Snow Leopard Installation Problems

Hi

I just purchased SL (Snow Leopard) from the apple store. While trying to install through the icon in the finder after 10 min it says that i hace to clean the disc , when i startup holding down c, after 15 mins it says it could not install the neccasary support files . Is there any soluton to this?

Hmmm.... maybe you have some kind of problem with the CD / DVD reader? I had to install snow leopard on my spouses macbook using an USB stick. Because her drive is damaged.

If you have made sure the disk is clean, next I'd get a cd/dvd cleaner - it's possible the lens is dirty. Or, you can do what I do - this is not recommended by most techs btw - turn off your computer, pull the plug and take the battery out, take a can of compressed air and hit it with 2-3 quick bursts in the drive in different directions - wait 30 seconds before you plug in the battery or power

What mac r u running?

I'm using a Macbook Alum. Late 2008 and its running 10.5.8

Work at Apple dealer in QLD Australia. 3 Snow Leopard install discs. 5 diferent types of machines (white imacs, alum imacs, mac book pros etc.) Also used tray load drive via firewire and many many more combinations. System Log says a selection of unextractable packages in the essentials package including ical.pkg one of the epson driver packages and some of the language packs including Norwegian. Sorry bad batch. My discs are marked B09 000125.

Got a refund and bought a new one now it works like a charm
